A 10-year-old boy presents to the ED with a 10-day history of progressive right temporal swelling after sustaining a fall with direct trauma to the right temporal region. Physical exam demonstrates a firm, 3 x 3 cm area of soft-tissue swelling at the right temporal region without erythema. Tenderness is noted with forceful palpation. The patient has no additional prior relevant medical history.
