    Averaged spectra for superagers (red), age-matched controls (blue), and the difference between groups (green). The most prominent difference is for NAA+NAAG (2.02 ppm), and there is a small difference for total Cr (3.03 ppm) and mIns (∼3.56 ppm) metabolites.

    Boxplots showing metabolite concentration differences between superagers and age-matched controls. NAA+NAAG was statistically significantly more elevated in the posterior cingulate cortex of superagers than in age-matched controls (P = .02), and mIns tended to be higher in superagers (P = .06). Cr+PCr, Glu, GCP+PCho, and NAA+NAAG/Cr+PCr were not statistically significantly different across groups. The asterisk means do not consider the unit millimolar (mM) for the ratio NAA+NAAG/Cr+PCr.
