- Teleproctoring for Neurovascular Procedures: Demonstration of Concept Using Optical See-Through Head-Mounted Display, Interactive Mixed Reality, and Virtual Space Sharing—A Critical Need Highlighted by the COVID-19 Pandemic
New technologies using head-mounted displays and virtual space sharing could offer solutions applicable to remote proctoring in the neurointerventional space.
- Flow-Diversion Treatment for Unruptured ICA Bifurcation Aneurysms with Unfavorable Morphology for Coiling
Medium-sized unruptured ICA bifurcation aneurysms with unfavorable morphology for coiling can be treated with M1 ICA flow diversion. Aneurysm occlusion is associated with flow modifications of the covered A1 that seem safe in the presence of a favorable collateral anatomy through the anterior communicating artery complex.
- Posterior Circulation Endovascular Thrombectomy for Large-Vessel Occlusion: Predictors of Favorable Clinical Outcome and Analysis of First-Pass Effect
Lower baseline NIHSS score and a higher MR imaging posterior circulation ASPECTS were predictors of good clinical outcome. The use of large-bore catheters was a positive predictor of first-pass modified TICI 2b/3; the use of a combined technique was a negative predictor.
